The wine-making museum was a dream of the winery's directors Mr. Celso and Luiz Panceri, which came true in 2003. Celso and Luiz Panceri, who is a lover of the Italian immigration history as well as the researcher of the Panceri family built the museum in order to archive and maintain the history of the family, which is closely interwoven with the wine-making activity in Santa Catarina State.
The museum items tell over 130 years of the Italian immigration in Santa Catarina and also 80 years of the wine-making activity in the state. The objects represent several Italian families as well as some French and German families that developed the wine-making history in our state.
Our museum, which is divided in three sectors- Wine-making,Immigrant and Panceri family- holds items that date back to the 1900's and portrait the roots of immigrants' life in the lands of Santa Catarina and their progress in grape growing and other activities.
Labels and bottles from the 1960's that belonged to the first wineries to ever make and bottle fine wine in the state are the highlights of our exhibition. Tools for wooden barrels making, glass bottles of 5 liters and sulphate sprayers are also attractions. The oldest item is a wooden barrel from the 1920's.
The museum was enlarged and renovated in 2009 with the support of Funturismo, thus expanding the collection that holds now wine-making objects from all the Valley of the Peixe River, Urussanga
and other wine-making regions in Santa Catarina.
This museum is the only one in the state to narrate the history of grape growing and wine-making in Santa Catarina, and it is an important tool for tourism and research for universities and research centers.
